One man with unspecified injuries was reported trapped following a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 near Castaic on Monday evening, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
Shortly after 6 p.m., a gray-and-red pickup truck and a semi were involved in a collision in the southbound lanes of the interstate north of Lake Hughes Road.
CHP officers closed all lanes of the interstate while man driving the pickup truck was rescued.
They arrived to shut down the lanes around 6:30 p.m. and two lanes were reopened after the driver was extricated.
The man was transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital via ambulance, a Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesman said.
