SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) — An 18-year-old student who was charged with classroom hazing has agreed to a plea deal and will testify against his teacher, who is also charged.

Christopher Lee, a spokesman for the San Bernardino County district attorney's office, said Monday that Fernando Salgado agreed to plead guilty to one count each of sexual penetration by a foreign object and assault with a deadly weapon.

If he testifies truthfully against his teacher, 27-year-old Emmanuel De La Rosa, he can withdraw his plea on the sex count.

Prosecutors are recommending a sentence of three years' felony probation and 180 days of county jail to be served on weekends.

Fontana police say three boys were attacked in De La Rosa's summer school class. A total of five people were arrested in the investigation.
