Rachel and Ruben Escobar Jr. were wed June 2.

 

Rachel Louise Carleton, of Valencia, and Ruben R. Escobar Jr., of Valencia, were joined in marriage on June 2, 2012, at the Bridgeport Clubhouse in Valencia.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Peters and Mr. and Mrs. Pat Carleton, of Valencia.

She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bull, of Valencia.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Ruben R. Escobar Senior of Hesperia and the grandson of Ms. Neomi Rico, of Chino, and Mrs. Mary Escobar, of Chino.

The double ring ceremony was presided over by Pastor Joe Campeau of Christ Lutheran Church.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, Pat Carleton.

The bride wore an ivory, beaded, strapless gown with a corset, lace-up back. The dress included pick-ups on the bottom portion and a 3-foot train. Her flowers were various shades of purple with white and green accents.

As a special heirloom the ring bearer’s pillow was the same one used at the bride’s grandparents wedding in 1962.

Jill Carleton, of Valencia, served as Maid of Honor.

Christine Arnold, of Valencia, served as bridesmaid.

Will Escobar, of San Jose, served as Best Man.

Mason Escobar, of San Jose and Aksel Baldwin, of San Jose, served as ushers.

The flower girl was Annika Baldwin, of San Jose.

A reception for 175 guests, who attended from San Jose, Woodlake, Calif, Chicago, New York and Australia was held at the Bridgeport Clubhouse in Valencia.

Wedding photographer was SunDove Productions.

The bride earned her Bachelor’s degree from Loyola Marymount University, and her Masters degree from University of La Verne. She is employed as a high school math teacher.

The groom earned his Bachelor’s degree from The Master’s College and his Masters degree from Azusa Pacific University. He is employed as a junior high school physical education teacher.

The couple honeymooned on a cruise to Cabo San Lucas.

They will make their home in Santa Clarita.
