TMC product signs with independent baseball club

Tanner Leighton, a former outfielder for The Master’s College, signed with the Washington Wild Things, a non-MLB affiliated professional baseball team based in Washington, Pa. this week, according to the school's website.

This season as a senior, Leighton batted .323 and led the team the team with 45 runs and 31 stolen bases.

Leighton played two seasons for the Mustangs after transferring from Skagit Valley College in Mount Vernon, Wash.

He will join another former TMC player Eric Blackwell, who is currently on the Wild Things’ roster as a pitcher.
