COC Center for Childhood Education taking applications

The College of the Canyons Center for Childhood Education is accepting applications for the fall 2012 semester through early August.

Beginning Aug. 20, the program offers a full-day program from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. and a half-day program from either 8:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Extended hours are available for pick-up and drop-off.

The center cares for toddlers 12 to 30 months old and preschoolers ages 3 to 4 years old. A limited number of spots are available.

Facilities are located on COC’s Canyon Country and Valencia campuses.

Families can apply for financial aid if they qualify and apply to the program in advance for later semesters.

The COC Center for Childhood Education is licensed by the California Department of Social Services Community Care Division and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

All staff members have a child development permit from the state commission on teacher credentialing.
