July brings some big-name funny to J.R.’s Comedy Club in Valencia. Elayne Boosler will perform July 13
and 14, Fritz Coleman will headline on July 20 and 21, and Gerry Bednob will be the star on July 27 and 28.

Comedian/writer/animal activist Elayne Boosler will headline at J.R.’s for two consecutive evenings, Friday July 13 and Saturday July 14. The comedy icon and inspiration for America’s current fleet funny of females will delight audiences for three consecutive shows, one on Friday at 9 p.m. and two on Saturday at 7 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

J.R.’s producer and comedy entrepreneur Randy Lubas said, “Elayne has set the bar for female comedians since the ’80s. She has broken down barriers, making way for such talents as Ellen DeGeneres, Kathy Griffin and Wanda Sykes, to name a few.”

Fritz Coleman is well know as NBC4’s weathercaster on the weekday editions of Channel 4 News, but he is also a long-time stand-up comic. He has performed at the Improv, the Ice House and other Southern California comedy clubs. He has utilized his humor in a number of series and specials that have aired on NBC4, including “Fritz and Friends” and “The Perils of Parenting,” receiving four Los Angeles area Emmy Awards for his work. He has also written, produced and starred in three one-man plays.

Gerry Bednob will perform at J.R.’s Friday, July 27 and Saturday, July 28. He made appearances on “The Wonder Years” and “Encino Man” before winning the 1993 Star Search International Stand Up Competition. It was as a comic where he met writer/director Judd Apatow and was cast as Mr. Burundi on the Fox television show, “Undeclared.” This relationship led to Bednob’s breakthrough role as Mooj in the smash hit, “The 40-Year-Old-Virgin.” He would follow up on the success of this with numerous roles in film and television including “Witless Protection” with Larry the Cable Guy, and “Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story,” with Jenna Fischer and John C. Reilly.

J.R.’s Comedy Club is located in Marie Callender’s at 27630 The Old Road, Valencia, CA 91355. Call 661-259-2291 or visit www.comedyinvalencia.com.
