My wife and I just returned from a brief vacation in Oregon, and I would like to share a bit of wonderful kindness that we discovered in Portland.
On the walls of Portland city buses is a sign that pertains to eight seats in the front area of the bus. It reads, “Yield, Priority Seating Area. You are required to move for seniors and persons with handicaps.”
I thought it was such a nice thing for a city to do. I’d say Portland is a city that cares... A city with a heart.
Of course, I wasn’t too thrilled that passengers in those seats readily gave up their seat for me. I’m not so happy to have so quickly been recognized as a senior. I guess I do look my age.
