The National Weather service issued a flash flood warning for recent burn areas in Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Los Angeles Counties through this afternoon until 6 p.m.

Cold and slightly unstable air mass will continue to bring scattered showers with possible thunderstorms though the afternoon hours. Rainfall rates could exceed one half inch per hour through this afternoon. Flash flooding and debris flows are a particular threat in and below recently burned areas.

The National Weather service urges Southern California Residents in or near recently burned areas to protect their properties. Persons in the watch area should remain alert and follow directions of emergency preparedness officials.
