Letter: Newhall Memorial needs to clean up

I live in the South Valley Homeowners Association and leave out of Avenida Navarre daily.

Every day I go past the parking structure and see landscaping that is disgusting with weeds, no retention of the bark that was installed and untrimmed trees and bushes.

Why, as a resident, should I have to face this? The hospital was allowed to build, and I was for it because as we grow, the demand has to be met.

I even favor a second hospital in Canyon Country so we can shorten critical time needed to get the seriously injured or sick to a hospital.

Everybody knows that the shorter the time, the better chance for survival, and with Highway 14 on that side of the valley it makes sense.

I also think that our City Council needs to get involved in things that do not appeal to the neighbors of the hospital. The hospital has even left the construction fence up.

Our leaders need to take a tour around the grounds of the hospital because the parking structure is not the only problem you’ll find. The area behind the hospital and the grounds are not up to snuff.
