Three Foothill Leaguers earn All-State honors

West Ranch's Janelle Lindvall named to first team

A number of Foothill League softballers earned all-state honors Thursday as released its 2012 Cal-Hi Sports list of softball players in the state.

The website released its All-State softbal team on Thursday, with West Ranch’s Janelle Lindvall being named one of two catchers statewide named to the first team.

Hart slugger and North Carolina commit Tracy Chandless earned second-team All-State Infield honors, along with Canyon’s Courtney Ziese, who is headed to Georgia Tech in the fall.

Lindvall was named West Ranch’s Female Athlete of the Year last week, and is headed to the University of Oregon in the fall.

Lindvall was an intregal part of West Ranch’s league title this season, the first in school history.

The catcher hit .524 with six home runs and 28 RBIs.

Chandless, who exceled at third base for the Indians, hit a team high .495 with 41 RBIs and 11 home runs.

Ziese led the Foothill League with a 1.075 slugging percentage, batted .507 and posted 32 RBIs and 10 home runs.
to the second round of the CIF-Southern Section Division I playoffs for the second year in a row.

The website will release the all-state team with seniors later in the week.
