Offended by comments in flag article

Not only am I disturbed by this article, but I'm more disturbed that The Signal would actually publish the article titled "Flag mistake fuels anger" (Dec. 11, 2008). All this does is encourage the ignorant to voice their quick-mouthed, half-witted opinions.

I am offended by Les Armbruster and his comments. How dare you announce these comments publicly to your readers.

Herrera made a mistake; a mistake that even taken seriously isn't an "assault against America."

If Les Armbruster really cared so much about what soldiers have fought for, he would know that an upside-down flag, in its origin, is a military distress signal. It has been used to make a statement about distress in civic and political areas.

And, Les, if you haven't noticed, we are in a recession. Hundreds of thousands of people are losing their jobs and homes.

If Herrera was trying to make a political statement, it would be correct.

The number of cars he has shouldn't matter in this case. I'm sure Les Armbruster wouldn't think that a white family with six trucks is illegal; he would probably think they're well off.

Way to go, Signal, for showcasing the racists in this community.
