With the help of two former Foothill League softballers, the United States Women’s Softball team easily won its sixth straight World Cup title this week.

The United States cruised to a perfect 6-0 record to win the title with a 3-0 victory over Australia on Monday.

Valencia High and University of Michigan graduate Jordan Taylor appeared in three games at the tournament, picking up a win in a June 29, 3-1 victory over Australia, and had two no decisions in USA wins over Venezuela and Australia again.

In four games with the USA team this season, Taylor has a 1.85 ERA and 2-0 record.

Hart graduate and University of Oklahoma senior-to-be Jessica Shults, tallied one hit, one RBI and one walk in the six-team tournament.
