SCV Scene: Homes for the holidays

I love the rainy, gloomy weather this weekend. It almost "feels" like the holidays, doesn't it?

Holiday Light Tour 15
It was an honor to be part of the wonderful judging crew who gave up a full evening during the holiday season to spend nearly seven hours crisscrossing the SCV to judge the many, many fantastic holiday lightening displays. The hospitality of the entrants made us all realize how lucky we are to live in the SCV.

All of the judges remarked how much they enjoyed the many generous offerings of Kahlua, hot cocoa, cookies and in particular, chili. It was an honor to visit with so many great subscribers. In addition, there were a couple of entries that got lost in the Internet soup, so please take the time to visit the homes of Doug Swaim, 26819 Kendall Lane, Stevenson Ranch (take Poe to Brooks Circle to Kendall) and Thad and Karen Kleszcz, 23258 Chervil Court, Valencia. Also, visit www.the-signal.com to see the Light Tour judges in action on video.

Henry Mayo Home Tour is fab
Nothing puts me in the mood for the holidays more than the Henry Mayo Home Tour. This year's event, scaled back to a single home and a gala, was a fabulous treat for the senses, from Greg Amsler's Salt Creek Grille "Winter Wonderland Martini" (can we have that added permanently to the Salt Creek Grille drink menu?) to Jeanna Crawford's amazing decorating talent to Tamra Levine's (and Salt Creek Grille's) awesome hors d'oeuvres, this year's Home Tour Gala was an evening to treasure and remember.

The hospitality of Dianne and Wayne Crawford in opening their home for this cherished event will be long remembered.

Seen at Home Tour Gala
