LOS ANGELES (AP) — A body discovered near a waterfall in the Angeles National Forest has been identified as a Bakersfield man who vanished more than two weeks ago.
The Los Angeles Times says authorities identified him Wednesday as 33-year-old Ertug Ergun, a Turkish engineer who was working in Bakersfield. His supervisor reported him missing on June 20. His car was later found near a picnic site in the forest northeast of downtown Los Angeles.
Hikers found his body on June 30 in dense brush at the base of a waterfall in Big Tujunga Canyon.
The cause of death is under investigation.
