West Ranch slugger and shortstop Kylie Sorenson made the Cal-Hi Sports all-state softball underclass team, which was released Wednesday on ESPNHS.com.

The junior, who was both All-Foothill and All-Santa Clarita Valley Player of the Year, was one of 30 non-senior softball players who made the first team.

Sorenson was the only Foothill League player to make the underclass squad.

She finished the year with a .505 batting average, 33 RBIs and eight home runs while also recording an exceptional fielding percentage of .971 at shortstop.

With her help, West Ranch won its first league softball title in school history after finishing 9-1 against Foothill opponents, and the team advanced to the second round of the CIF-Southern Section Division I playoffs for the second year in a row.

Sorenson has verbally committed to play softball at Stanford University.

The website will release the all-state team with seniors later in the week.
