Clear skies and breezy conditions will continue in the Santa Clarita Valley, but the relatively cool summer weather will give way to more traditional scorching temperatures by the end of the week, forecasters said Tuesday.

Highs today will reach about 84 degrees — a far cry from the triple-digit temperatures that led Santa Clarita Fourth of July Parade planners to change the event’s start time from 10 a.m. to 9 a.m. a few years ago.

The mild 80-degree weather enjoyed by residents recently will continue until Friday, when the mercury is expected to hit 90 degrees and keep on rising, according to National Weather Service forecasters.

By Sunday highs of 99 are forecast. Lows will dip to only the 60s.

With higher temperatures combined with summer vacation, local pool operators are bracing for an onslaught of swimmers.
