Sammie Campbell, of Valencia, is pleased to announce the engagement of her daughter, Kayla Campbell, to Jonathan Stains, son of Jean (Clark) Stains, of Saugus, and Herbert M. Stains, of Fort Collins, Colo. The bride-elect is the daughter of the late Patrick Campbell.

The engaged couple were both  raised in the Santa Clarita Valley. They became engaged in September 2011 following the groom-elect’s graduation from Fort Benning Army Base, Columbus, Ga. He bent down on his knee and asked her to be his bride.

They currently reside in Tacoma, Wash., where the groom-elect is stationed at the JBLM Army Base. They will be married Aug. 17 in Los Angeles. Following the groom-elect’s military service, they hope to return to Southern California to make their home.
