MS Aerospace reached its 20-year anniversary June 1, according to President Michel Szostak.

The fastener manufacturer, based in Sylmar, has grown from three employees to nearly 300 in its two decades of manufacturing. During this growth, it has also expanded its manufacturing capacity, a spokesman for the company said.

Shortly after the company opened for business, its original building was destroyed by the Northridge earthquake in January 1994.

While it was a blow to the startup company, MS Aerospace was back in full production by February, having quickly relocated to Burbank. By the end of 1997, it moved into a brand new purpose-built 100,000-square-foot facility.

As the manufacturer celebrates a milestone, it is also announced it’s expanding again and in the process of recruiting more employees.
