A truck fully engulfed in flames on Interstate 5 near Gorman sparked a brush fire in the area this morning, fire and law enforcement officials report.
Shortly after 9 a.m., a box truck northbound on Interstate 5 caught fire two miles north of Templin Highway, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.
“The truck is ... fully involved,” the spokesman said about 9:30 a.m. The truck was believed to be loaded with cabinets.
The fire spread to the hillside next to the truck and burned about three-quarters of an acre before it was extinguished about 75 minutes after it started.
Water-dropping helicopters assisted in the fire fight.
No one was injured in the fire.
