Vandalism
Dolan Way and Sierra Highway, Canyon Country
Vandals damaged a blue 2003 Acura driven by a 33-year-old Canyon Country man between midnight and 1:30 p.m. June 2. The man parked alongside a curb on Dolan Way and returned to find the car covered in scratches, a sheriff's report said. The scratches "ran the length of each side of the vehicle" and the paint was "scratched through to the metal," a deputy said in the report. The estimated cost to repair the vandalism is $2,000, the report said.

Peachland Avenue, Newhall
Thieves stole a blue and white Mongoose bike belonging to a Newhall boy between 10 p.m. June 3 and 8 a.m. June 4. The bike had been left on the patio of the boy's residence, a sheriff's report said. The boy's mother told deputies another boy had been seen riding the bike near Lyon's Avenue and Apple Street.

Thieves stole a headlight attached to a vehicle while it was parked at the Valencia Westfield Town Center between 2 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. June 8. No description of the vehicle was given in the sheriff's report.

Vandalism
Jakes Way, Danielson Street, Canyon Country
Vandals used black spray paint to spray a circular pattern on a 2010 Nissan Cube driven by a Van Nuys woman between 6:45 p.m. and 6:55 p.m. while it was parked near Jakes Way and Danielson Street in Canyon Country June 10. The woman told deputies she and a friend had been involved in an argument with three men at a Santa Clarita Valley movie theater about 30 minutes before the vandalism was discovered, according to a sheriff's report. The woman believes the vandals followed the couple after their argument, she said in the report.

Wheeler Road, Newhall
Vandals caused an estimated $2,600 in damage when they spray-painted a man's garage door and 2006 gray Ford F150 pickup between midnight and 7:10 a.m. June 13. The vandals sprayed the works "Drug Dealer" on the garage door and painted a line across the entire pickup, according to a sheriff's report.

Driving Under the influence of Alcohol or Drugs
Decoro Drive, McBean Parkway, Valencia
Deputies arrested a 22-year-old San Diego man for DUI at 6:10 a.m. June 17 after watching him making several extremely wide turns while driving a black 2006 Lexus just after 6:10 a.m. June 17. Earlier, the man was spotted lying on the ground in the middle of the McDonalds drive-through near Decoro and McBean but drove away in a black 2006 Lexus, a sheriff's report said. The man's blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 and he had just taken Xanax, the man said in the sheriff's report.

Thieves stole the catalytic converter from a 1994 white Toyota pickup parked in front of a Castaic home between 5:30 a.m. June 12 and 11 p.m. June 16. The converter is worth an estimated $250, according to a sheriff's report.

Thieves stole the catalytic converter from a green 1992 Toyota pickup parked in the driveway of a Castaic home between 11 p.m. June 16 and 5:30 a.m. June 17, according to a sheriff's report.

June 18
Burglary
Plum Canyon Road, Saugus
Thieves stole two acetylene bottles and one nitrogen bottle, worth a combined $3,000, that were left in a shed at a Saugus construction site between 3 p.m. June 15 and 6:30 a.m. June 18. "The construction site is secured by a seven-foot temporary chain-link fence," a deputy wrote in a sheriff's report. The thieves appeared to have pushed open the gate to get access to the yard containing the shed, the report said.
