LAS VEGAS (AP) - The California Highway Patrol says cleanup of a chemical spill after a tanker crash could keep both directions of Interstate 15 shut down for several hours near the California-Nevada state line.

CHP Trooper Adam Croxton says northbound traffic on I-15 is stopped Friday morning at Yates Well Road.

The Nevada Highway Patrol has southbound lanes closed at Primm.

Croxton says no one was hurt in the crash or from the spill after a tanker and a car collided a little before 6:30 a.m.

Croxton says a hazardous materials crew is being summoned to neutralize and remove 1,400 gallons of a liquid industrial corrosive from the center median.

The interstate is a major route between Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
