Workers moved the furniture from the former building of Preferred Bank on Town Center Drive in Valencia Monday as bank officials prepare to use the items for two new branch openings scheduled for this month.

Preferred Bank customers who used the Valencia office were notified of the branch's impending closure in October via mail, window and door postings, said Senior Vice President Delores Itow.

New branches will open in Pico Rivera and Anaheim before 2009, she said. Headquartered in Los Angeles, Perferred Bank is a publicly held community bank established in 1991.
