I think of my father often. He gave me the best childhood a girl could have. I got to wander at will on a huge cattle ranch, ride horses and be “a little wild.”

I wish he had lived to see me today. I think he would have been proud. Spoil your dad a little today, he deserves it.
REP Rocks the Rooftop

Guests Will be “Rockin’ the Rooftop” at This Year’s Summer Evening with the REP with dining, libations and a classic 1980s rock concert on the roof of Valencia BMW. The Repertory East Playhouse will host its annual benefit, Summer Evening with the REP, on June 23, on the rooftop of Valencia BMW, the event’s presenting sponsor.

Tickets for the event, include two raffle tickets, are $75 per person. Guests can also enjoy The Whiskey is On The Dresser, an exclusive scotch, whiskey and cigar bar for an additional $30 per person, and a cash bar will be available when the concert begins at 9 p.m. The dress code for the evening is city chic.

Kudos to Anthony Ervin
Olympic champion swimmer Anthony Ervin, who is an alumnus of the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley, was inducted into the Boys & Girls Clubs of America National Alumni Hall of Fame during the 2012 National Conference held in May in San Diego.

“Anthony is a perfect example of the Boys & Girls Club motto, ‘Great Futures Start Here.’ We are so proud and excited to have him be our first alumnus entered into the Hall of Fame,” said Jim Ventress, chief professional officer of the Boys & Girls Club of SCV.

Meet ‘Top Chef’

Bravo’s “Top Chef: The Tour” heads to Los Angeles for two days on Wednesday and Thursday this week. “Top Chef’ is one of my favorite guilty pleasures.  on Wednesday Richard Blais (Season 4 and Season 8 Winner) and Fabio Viviani (Seasons 5 and 8) of Los Angeles will compete in a live, interactive cook-off at Hollywood & Highland Center.

The free event continues on Thursday when Blais and Hector Santiago (Season 6) face off. Three shows, 10:30 a.m., noon and 1:30 p.m.
