Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs
23700 block of Rotundra Drive, Valencia
Deputies arrested a 29-year-old Simi Valley man for DUI just after 10 p.m. June 2 after watching the silver 2003 Ford F150 pickup he was driving drift back and forth while traveling south on McBean Parkway. The man's blood alcohol content was just more than three times the legal limit of 0.08, according to a sheriff's report.
The man admitted to having a few beers and when asked what size of beers by deputies, replied, "Big ones," the report said.

Domestic Violence
Rodgers Drive, Saugus
A 51-year-old Saugus man was arrested at 2 p.m. June 3 after striking his estranged wife, according to a sheriff's report. The man struck the 47-year-old woman in the face, causing her nose to bleed, a sheriff's report said. The victim went to urgent care of a local hospital and was told her nose was broken, the report said.

Burglary
25800 block of McBean Parkway, Valencia
Thieves smashed the passenger side window of a black 1998 Volkswagen Beetle belonging to a 56-year-old Little Rock woman and stole a purse she had left lying on the floorboard between 10:15 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. June 4. At least $73 in personal property was taken from the car, a sheriff's report said.

23800 block of Newhall Avenue, Newhall
Thieves smashed the front window of a green 1995 Toyota 4Runner driven by a 22-year-old North Hollywood woman and stole her purse between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. June 4. The estimated cost to replace the shattered window is $250, a sheriff's report said.

Burglary
28200 block of Newhall Ranch Road, Valencia
Thieves stole more than $800 in property from a silver 2006 Toyota Sequoia parked near L.A. Fitness between 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. June 6. The owner of the SUV reported the keys to the Toyota missing to the gym manager but continued to exercise, according to a sheriff's report. When the man returned to his SUV, he found it unlocked and ransacked, the report said.

Petty Theft
168400 block of Goodvale Road, Canyon Country
Thieves broke into a power supply case on Goodvale Road and stole three batteries worth a combined $800, according to a sheriff's report. An informant believes the thieves may have had a key as there were no signs of forced entry to the case, according to the report. The theft occurred between 8 a.m. Feb. 13 and 2:10 p.m. June, according to the report.
