Separate incidents lead to airlifts to hospitals

An 8-year-old was airlifted to a hospital from Central Park following a head-to-head injury with another girl, officials confirmed Wednesday.

Shortly before 2 p.m. Wednesday, the girl suffered an injury at Plum Canyon Elementary School, said a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The girl was then taken by ambulance to Central Park on Bouquet Canyon Road where she was transferred to a waiting helicopter, he said.

The injury is not believed to be life-threatening and officials had no information and no report of injury for the other girl involved.
