Boy airlifted from Towsley Canyon

A teenage boy who crashed a mountain bike in Towsley Canyon this morning was airlifted to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.


Shortly after 10 a.m., paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department were dispatched to Ed Davis Park at Towsley Canyon near Wiley Motorway, Inspector Brian Riley said.


Ground crews at Fire Station 124 in Stevenson Ranch assigned a helicopter rescue team that converged on the popular hiking spot at 10:18 a.m..


The injured boy was about 1.5 miles down the local hiking trail when he was spotted by the chopper crew.


The victim was hoisted into the helicopter at 10:30 a.m. and taken to hospital.
