Weather service warns of extreme fire danger

The National Weather Service issued a red-flag warning for the Santa Clarita and San Fernando valleys from 10 a.m. today to 4 p.m. Wednesday because of extreme fire danger due to high winds and low humidity.
Winds from 25 to 40 mph will blow out of the northeast all day with gusts to about 60 mph in the morning.
Weather service officials expect the winds to slow to about 50 mph in the afternoon.
