Concerns of another brush fire north of Castaic prompted at least one motorist to report a motorcycle on fire on the shoulder of Interstate 5 late Monday afternoon.
At 5:20 p.m., officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department received word of a motorcycle on fire near the southbound lanes of the interstate near Templin Highway.
Officers with the California Highway Patrol responding to the call reported a motorcycle on fire on the shoulder at that location.
An update supplied by the CHP officer at the scene described it as being "clothes on fire."
At 5:30 p.m., all responding units were called off.
However, dispatchers received word back from responding fire crews - erring on the side of caution - that they would check out the report of fire regardless.
On Friday, an off-road motorcycle crash in the hills west of Castaic ignited a brush fire that ended up consuming nearly 700 acres.
