A Deaf Ear on Iraq

To The Editor:

As preparation for the war in Iraq, our president and his advisers asked our generals for recommendations on this matter. They advised that they needed more troops than Rumsfeld had suggested. They said winning the war was no problem. More troops were needed to win the peace and secure that nation's stability and recovery.

In a recent edition of The Signal, I read where our president says, "Decisions about troop cuts....would be based on generals' recommendations."

Now you listen to the experts! History will surely describe your presidency as, "He didn't know what he didn't know." We've had proof of that too many times.
