For all of Hart High’s swim’s tradition, there is one swimmer who stands out above the rest.

Hart graduate and 2000 Olympic Gold medalist Anthony Ervin is, for lack of a better word, the gold standard when it comes to Santa Clarita Valley swim — and on Saturday, his comeback after a 12-year hiatus took another step forward.

Ervin won the 50-meter freestyle event at the Santa Clara Grand Prix on Saturday, and took home second in the 100-meter freestyle race.

His winning time was a 22.35, and he swam a 49.95 in the 100.
