An 87-year-old woman reported missing May 13 is back at home in good health with her family after 10 days absence.

Gladys Loyd was found in Westminster two days after she was reportedly spotted withdrawing money from her bank account in Irvine.

"We do have her home," Loyd's niece Geraldine Frith told The Signal on Sunday.

"We picked up her up just over a week ago, on Wednesday," she said, referring to May 23.

Although deputies of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station officially listed her as missing and referred the case to the Missing Persons Bureau of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Loyd had been spotted at more than half a dozen locations across the county.

Loyd, who once lived in Torrance, has gone missing twice before, according to relatives.

The first time she went missing, she was found in Azusa 36 hours later. The second time, she was found by Whittier Police three days later.

"This time she was missing for 10 days," Frith said.

Loyd, who moved in with her niece in October, left the family home on Shadow Island Drive, near Rio Vista Elementary School, by car before the sun came up May 13.

In the week and a half that she was missing, the family received more than half a dozen reported sightings of the woman across the county.

Two days after she left the family home, relatives were buoyed with news she had been tracked by credit card use to Torrance, Azusa and then to Glendale.

The family cancelled credit cards in the hope she would call them out of necessity.

That didn't happen.

Loyd apparently continued driving from town to town, with family members left telling the media: "She's doing her own thing."

On May 18, Loyd was in a bank in Irvine withdrawing money from her bank account.

Five days after that, Frith and family members made the 70-mile drive to Westminister to pick her up.

Loyd was born in Wisconsin in 1924 and does not have children.

About 40 years ago, Loyd lived in San Bernardino, about 40 miles east of Azusa.
