May 19
Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs
Skycrest Circle and McBean Parkway, Valencia
Deputies arrested a 21-year-old Valencia man after watching the white car he was driving at 1:25 a.m. May 19 drift from lane to lane while traveling north on McBean. The driver's blood alcohol content was about twice the legal limit, a sheriff's report said. The driver admitted to drinking at least two or three beers, the report said.

Petty Theft
Canyon Country
Thieves stole the catalytic converter attached to a black 1994 Toyota 4Runner between 10 a.m. May 19 and 11 a.m. May 20. "It looked to be unbolted from one end and cut from the other," a deputy said in the sheriff's report. The stolen converter is worth an estimated $250, the report said.

Petty Theft
Mount Stephen Avenue, Canyon Country
Thieves stole the catalytic converter attached to a white 1989 Toyota SR5 truck parked in front of a Canyon Country residence between noon May 13 and 1 p.m. May 20. "The converter appears to have been unbolted," a deputy said in a sheriff's report. "This incident is possibly related to two other (catalytic converter) thefts which were reported on the same day."

May 21
Petty Theft, Saugus
Thieves stole $20 from the center console of an unlocked 2008 Chevy Trailblazer between 10 p.m. May 20 and 6:30 a.m. May 21 in Saugus. The vehicle had been ransacked but it didn't appear anything else had been stolen, a sheriff's report said.

Drunk in Public
Evans Avenue, Newhall
Deputies arrested a drunken 43-year-old woman found lying on an Evans Avenue sidewalk in Newhall at 8:30 p.m. May 21. "She stated she had consumed two pints of vodka in the past seven hours," a deputy said in a sheriff's report. The woman was unable to tell deputies where she lived or how she got to Newhall, the report said.

6400 block of Carl Boyer Drive, Canyon Country
Deputies arrested a 21-year-old Castaic woman at 3:40 p.m. May 21 after she tried to leave Walmart without paying for $53 of cosmetic items. "I messed up," the woman said in a sheriff's report. "I was just trying to save a few bucks."

Tuesday
Spousal Assault
Bobwhite Circle, Saugus
A man refused medical treatment after suffering minor injuries when his wife of 16 years began throwing objects at him while they argued in their Saugus residence at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. The wife was arrested, a sheriff's report said.
