Valencia High School teacher Alison Henry has been selected for the Honeywell Educators @ Space Academy program, the company announced Wednesday. As part of the program, she will take part in 45 hours of professional development, as well as an intensive educator curriculum focused on space science and exploration. Activities include classroom, laboratory, and field training exercises linked to U.S. science and math teaching standards. The program will take place at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. Henry, a Castaic resident who has taught for 15 years, is one of 185 scholarship recipients from teachers in 19 countries and 37 states.
