Winds that kicked up Tuesday toppled a tree in Newhall during the afternoon and was expected to continue into this morning, officials said.
The oak tree fell over near Peachland Avenue and Neargate Drive in Newhall about 5 p.m. Tuesday, a Sheriff’s Department official said.
As of 5:30 p.m., SCV Sheriff’s Station deputies had not responded to any other wind-related problems.
California Highway Patrol officers warned drivers late Tuesday night and early this morning to be extra cautious, especially if driving high-profile vehicles.
