If you're gearing up for a camping adventure this Memorial Day weekend, the California Department of Fish and Game asks that you take time to be Bear Aware! Bears are attracted to anything edible or smelly so take the following precautions when visiting bear country:
1) Stash your trash in bear-proof receptacles.
2) Secure food and personal hygiene products in tightly sealed containers and put in the trunk of your car if food storage lockers are unavailable.
3) Never keep food in your tent.
4) Maintain a clean camp site at all times.
