Trevor Bauer will get his first shot at Triple-A baseball this week, as he was bumped from Double-A Mobile to Triple-A Reno on Thursday, according to The Republic in Arizona.
Bauer, a Hart High graduate who was drafted third overall by the Arizona Diamondbacks last year in the MLB First-Year Player Draft, is scheduled to make his first start on Friday against the Oklahoma City Redhawks.
The promotion for the right-handed pitcher comes after a dominant start to the season with the Mobile BayBears.
In eight starts with Mobile this year, Bauer has a 1.68 ERA with 60 strikeouts in 48 1/3 innings.
He had previously made four starts with the BayBears last year, which came after a short stint with Class A-Advanced Visalia.
