An 87-year-old woman with a history of disappearance has now been missing from her Canyon Country home for four days.

Gladys Loyd, who moved in with her niece in October, left the family home on Shadow Island Drive, near Rio Vista Elementary School, by car early Sunday morning.

Loyd has gone missing twice before, said niece Geraldine Frith.

The first time, she was found in Azusa 36 hours later. The second time, she was found by Whittier police three days later.

Today marks the fourth day in Loyd’s most recent disappearance.

“The case is still open,” said Los Angeles County sheriff’s Detective Tamar Abraham of the Missing Persons Unit.

Abraham said Wednesday she has received no new information on Loyd.

Loyd is believed to be driving a gray-colored Honda CRV bearing the licence plate 4PYB089. She was last seen wearing a blue velvet jump suit.

Anyone spotting the car or the woman is asked to call the Sheriff’s Station at 255-1121.
