Valencia High graduate Madison Shipman has been named first-team All-Southeastern Conference after a standout season for the Lady Vols softball team.

She led the SEC with 58 RBIs overall and 33 in league games, and she has just four errors in 152 total chances at shortstop for the nation’s top-rated defense, according to a press release issued by Tennessee.

Shipman is batting .316 with nine home runs and 17 stolen bases. Thanks in part to her efforts, the Lady Vols went 45-9 this regular season and won the SEC East with a 22-6 record.

Tennessee is currently No. 5 in both the ESPN.com/USA Softball and USA Today/NFCA Coaches polls.
