CORONA, Calif. (AP) - Three pit bulls roaming a Southern California neighborhood have attacked a woman as she and her daughter arrived home after a high school awards ceremony.
Leesa Lyon was returning to the Corona Pointe Apartments complex Monday night when the dogs charged. The woman drove herself to a hospital for treatment of dog bites.
The Riverside Press-Enterprise (http://bit.ly/MjhNNp ) says the pit bulls were captured and they are quarantined at an animal shelter pending a vicious-dog hearing. The female dogs have not been spayed and they are unlicensed and unvaccinated.
On Saturday night, a Long Beach police officer shot and killed one of two pit bulls that attacked a woman on a city street. She had serious bite wounds.
Two bystanders who attempted to stop the attack were also bitten.
