Santa Clarita Valley residents who yearn for the era of ancient Rome - or who just want to relive their "Animal House" days - are invited to don their togas and head to Main Street in Newhall Thursday evening for a "Toga! Toga!" block party.

Residents can fashion togas from a simple bedsheet or develop more elaborate costumes for the city-sponsored event, which is slated to run from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. between Market and 6th streets.

Thursday's free "Senses" themed block party will feature wine tasting with the Wine Relay - for $15 for a partial tasting or $30 for a full tasting - with the proceeds benefitting the American Cancer Society.

Residents will also be able to enjoy meals from gourmet food trucks, listen to the band Scattered Suns, and enjoy business and drink specials.
