The fourth annual Santa Clarita Valley Film Festival will host an encore presentation of "Stalking Santa," the 2007 festival's winner of "Best Film" and "Best Screenplay," just in time for the holidays. The complimentary screening will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Repertory East Playhouse, 24266 Main Street, Newhall and will include a meet and greet with writer and costar Daryn Tufts. Seating for "Stalking Santa" is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

"Stalking Santa" is a hilarious, myth-defining indie comedy starring Chris Clark and Daryn Tufts and narrated by William Shatner. The film is best described as a tongue in cheek "mockumentary" about a man obsessed with finding the truth behind the existence of Santa Claus. Tufts, a Santa Clarita native and graduate of Canyon High School, will be on hand for a question and answer session following the screening, in addition to being available to sign copies of DVDs.

"We screened ‘Stalking Santa' opening night of our third annual festival and received a great response," said SCV Film Festival co-founder Ramon Hamilton. "The 2009 Film Festival is for all audiences and ‘Stalking Santa' is a great way to get the community in the holiday spirit and excited about the upcoming festival."

The SCV Film Festival will return to Santa Clarita Jan. 8-11 with a lineup of independent films from local,
regional, national and international talents. All films screened are appropriate for audiences of all ages.

The weekend's events will also take place at the intimate Repertory East Playhouse in Newhall.
