Pinecrest School fifth-graders, teachers and parent volunteers recently traveled to Sacramento as part of a field trip to learn about California history.
The students flew to Sacramento in April for one full day of visiting several sites, including the State Capitol, the California State Railroad Museum and Sutter’s Fort.
While at Sutter’s Fort, they participated in colonial activities, such as cooking, tanning animal hides, weaving and playing games with handmade wooden toys.
The students also traveled to Coloma to the Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park where they participated in many activities, such as panning for gold.
