I want to urge your readers to contact their representatives in Sacramento to vote against Senate Bill 1530, sponsored by San Fernando Valley Democrat Alex Padilla.
The bill is directed at teachers, but could eventually do away with due process for anyone accused of a crime.
The bill gives school boards the power to fire, without due process, any teacher accused of sexual wrongdoing.
Certainly a sexual crime by a teacher is a terrible thing, but accusations are not proof, and if we take due process away from teachers, who knows who will be next?
