The William S. Hart Union High School District recently granted a five-year extension of Mission View Charter School charter application.
Mission View was approved by the Hart district in 2002 as an alternative for students who couldn't learn in the traditional school setting. Mission View provides one-on-one and small-group instruction for high school students who are able to learn independently.
The Hart district approved the charter extension through 2017 during last week's school board meeting.
The charter extension passed 4-0 with board president Gloria Mercado-Fortine abstaining from the vote.
