The Standup Guys, Robert G. Lee, Kenn Kington and Bob Smiley, will bring an unusual form of entertainment to Real Life Church in Valencia on May 18 - clean comedy.

"Yes, we specialize in that strange animal, clean comedy," said Lee, of Los Angeles. "I think there is more craft in creating a clean joke then in going blue."

Lee has worked as a warmup comedian for television sitcoms including "The New Adventures of Old Christine," "Designing Women" and "Golden Girls," among others.

The Standup Guys were born two years ago and a pilot for a television show and national tours have followed.

Lee said he comes from the comics that include Bill Cosby, Red Skelton and Jack Benny.

"I do clean comedy because my mother is still alive," Lee said. "If she catches me saying something inappropriate she will ground me."

Lee said that 100 percent of ticket sales to the concert will go to benefit SCV Habitat for Heroes.

"Who could say no to this event?" he said. "This is to honor our veterans. It's a good place to spend your money."

Tickets for the Standup Guys comedy concert to benefit SCV Habitat for Heroes are $15 before May 15; $17.50 after May 15. VIP tickets $20. The concert will be held 8 p.m. Friday, May 18 at Real Life Church, 23841 Newhall Ranch Road, Valencia. For tickets and information visit www.habitatSCV.org/events or call 818-884-8808.
