Sulphur Springs School District's $72 million bond measure to benefit Canyon Country elementary schools has picked up support from Newhall School District and College of the Canyons.

Santa Clarita Community College District trustees signed off on resolution of support Wednesday night, while Newhall School District board members unanimously lent their support to Measure CK earlier this month.

On Tuesday, the Santa Clarita City Council Legislative Committee, which includes Mayor Frank Ferry and Councilman Bob Kellar, recommended that a resolution in support of Measure CK come before the City Council on May 22.

On June 5, voters within Canyon Country will decide whether to support Measure CK, a $72 million bond measure that would pay for renovations and modernizations at nine Canyon Country elementary schools, the district office and its support offices.

Measure CK, short for "Classrooms for Kids," needs 55 percent of "yes" votes to pass.
