26400 block of Rockwell Canyon Road, Valencia
A 21-year-old Canyon Country man on parole was arrested just before 7 p.m. April 23 after a deputy found a 2-foot machete, two large water bongs, two marijuana pipes, a marijuana grinder and a hollow point bullet in his white 2001 Honda Accord, a sheriff's report said.
The suspect also had a knife clipped onto a pants pocket, the report said. The deputy stopped the man in a College of the Canyons parking lot for violating a loud noise ordnance with the volume of his car stereo and for making a threatening gesture against the deputy, the report said.

Embezzlement
26400 block of Carl Boyer Drive, Canyon Country
Walmart loss prevention officials detained an employee at 7 a.m. April 24 for embezzling money from the store, a sheriff's report said. Surveillance video showed the 26-year-old woman scanning store receipts and putting money onto Walmart gift cards, the report said. The Lancaster woman admitted to stealing $1,573, the report said.

April 25
Drunk in Public
Sand Canyon Road, Soledad Canyon Road, Canyon Country
Deputies arrested a 39-year-old transient for being drunk in public just after 2:30 a.m. April 25, a sheriff's report said. "The suspect was swaying and looked as though he was having trouble standing," the report said. The man had been asking passerbys for change so he could buy a bag of chips, he said in the report.

Petty Theft
27200 block of McBean Parkway, Valencia
A shoplifter tried to push a grocery cart filled with groceries out of Pavillions just after 3 p.m. April 25 but fled after a loss prevention official tried to stop him, a sheriff's report said. The man may have been between 35 and 45-years-old, the report aid.

April 26
Vandalism
Dagmar Way, Canyon Country
Vandals reportedly broke a window of a Canyon Country condominium between 7 p.m. April 26 and noon April 28, according to a sheriff's report. The estimated cost to replace the window is $375, the report said.

April 29
Burglary
Dune Lane, Canyon Country
Thieves broke into an unlocked garage in Canyon Country between midnight and 9 a.m. April 29 to steal two bicycles and a purse containing a wallet and various credit and Social Security cards, a sheriff's report said. The estimated loss is $760, the report said. The purse had been left on the front passenger seat of an unlocked grey 2007 Audi inside the garage, the report said.

Burglary
27700 block of The Old Road, Valencia
Thieves reportedly stole about $3,920 in camera equipment from a locked 2008 Toyota Sequoia between 10 p.m. and midnight April 29, a sheriff's report said. The Toyota belonged to a Norwalk man and the car had been parked in the Hilton Gardens parking lot, the report said.
