The Master’s College’s Charlie Gillies has been named the Golden State Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year, one of five Mustangs to be honored with postseason awards according to a press release from Monday.

Pitcher A.J. Work and catcher Bryan Lucas both made the All-GSAC team, and Lucas, first baseman Spencer Downs and third baseman Cody Harris all made the conference’s Gold Glove team.

Gillies, a West Ranch High graduate, went 8-5 this season and led the GSAC with 92 2/3 innings pitched, a 1.94 ERA, a .180 opponent batting average and 108 strikeouts.

Work led the conference with 10 wins, 23 runs allowed and 20 earned runs allowed, while Lucas batted .297 with a team-leading eight home runs and 33 RBIs.

Lucas also threw out 26 base runners and committed only five errors, while Downs only had one error and Harris just five.

TMC will face Biola to open GSAC Tournament play at 5:30 p.m. today at Azusa Pacific.
