The 2012 California Community College Softball Regional Playoffs pairings were announced Saturday, and College of the Canyons has received the top seed in the bracket.
The Western State Conference Blue Division champions finished with a record of 37-2-1 this season and will host 16th-seeded Santa Barbara City in the first game of a best-of-three series on May 5 at 2 p.m.
Game Two is scheduled for May 6 at Noon, and game three, if necessary, will be played at 2 p.m.
The two schools met once this season, on Feb. 11 at Cypress, with COC winning 8-0 in five innings behind a complete game four hitter by Canyons’ pitcher Kimmie Lockhart.
The winner of each of the eight matchups advance to the CCCAA Softball Super Regionals.
