Gage Young, 12 feels for the beak of a squid as he and his sixth-grade classmates dissect squids during a science class at Santa Clarita Elementary School in Saugus. The 30 students removed the lens of the eye, the esophagus and the cartilage of the squid and then wrote their names on paper using a toothpick and the squid’s ink.
